How Much Does a Boudoir Shoot Cost? An Honest Answer.
People ask me all the time, how much does a boudoir shoot cost, what does it include, is it really worth it. And I get it. Nobody wants to fall in love with the idea and then get hit with a number they weren't expecting.
So let me just tell you straight.
You wear what you feel comfortable and sexy in, you can do this too.
What Boudoir Photography Actually Costs
Boudoir photography can range anywhere from $300 to $7,000 or more depending on who you go to, what the experience includes, and what you walk away with.
Don't get me wrong — that's a wide range. And it can feel overwhelming when you're just trying to figure out if this is something you can actually do.
Here's how to make sense of it.
Why Prices Vary So Much
Not all boudoir experiences are the same. Like, at all.
Some photographers charge a low session fee from $99, $150 but that only gets you through the door. The images? Those are sold separately. By the time you add up the photos you actually want to keep, you could easily be spending $1,000 or more anyway. It just didn't feel that way upfront.
I do things differently. A $499 reservation fee holds your date and covers everything on the day. Hair. Makeup. Guided posing. My personal attention from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. And it comes off the total of your order that day.
Your images are selected the same day, no waiting weeks, no wondering. I walk you through every option with no pressure and no rush.
Your day with Jules Secret begins at 8:30am and you’re leaving by 2:30pm and that includes picking your pictures.
What Are You Actually Paying For?
This is the part most photographers don't talk about. So I will.
When you book a real boudoir experience, you're not just paying for someone to point a camera at you. You're paying for:
Hair and makeup. A professional artist who knows how to make you look like yourself, only more. The version of you that you always hoped was in there. But if you wanted a more glam look that could be done too.
Posing guidance. This is a big one. I've been doing this for 24 years. I know how to position every body type in a way that is genuinely flattering. You don't have to know how to pose. That's my job and honestly one of my favorite parts. And I’m pretty good at it too.
The experience itself. There's a reason women cry at their reveal appointments. Not because they're sad, because they're seeing something in themselves they forgot was there. That doesn't happen by accident. It takes skill, intention, and someone who actually cares about the woman sitting in front of her.
Finished portraits. Not digital files sitting on a hard drive. Most of my clients choose flush mount lay-flat albums (the kind that open completely flat so every image is fully visible, edge to edge). They're stunning. And honestly, most women want all their poses. You're going to love more pictures than you think you will. Having this beautiful album to look back on when you want to feel better, look back at or show someone is always easy to reach. Digitals can disappear, get corrupted or the formatting changes. We do have packages that offer digitals or just digitals but a tangible product is always best!
There's also something I hear a lot that I completely understand — women want to keep this between them and their partner. An album does that. It's not hanging on a wall for every guest to see. It's something private, intimate, and completely yours. That's why albums are what most women choose and I think that makes perfect sense.
I carry various album styles, some made right here in the US, others handcrafted in Europe. The quality across all of them is exceptional. The difference is in the cover material, the size, the finish, the custom design work and how many pictures are in the album. There are various investment levels depending on what speaks to you and I'll walk you through every option that day.
When you look at it that way, the investment makes a lot more sense.
You might think you can’t do this, but I know you can.
What About the Cost? Here's What I Really Think.
I'm going to say something that might surprise you.
If this is something you truly want and I mean really want, not just think would be nice someday, then money is an excuse. I don't say that to be harsh. I say it because I've heard every version of "I can't afford it" over 24 years, and I've watched those same women find a way when they finally decided they were worth it.
Here's the truth. People spend money everyday. You will spend money this month. On things you won't remember. On things that won't matter in a year. But this? This is something you will have forever. These images will still be with you when you're 80. Your daughter might find them someday and see her mother the way I saw you — beautiful, strong, and worth every single penny.
I've had women tell me it was the best money they ever spent on themselves. Not one woman has told me she regretted it. Not one. Most of them say they wish they hadn't waited so long.
So if you're sitting here calculating whether you can afford it, I want you to ask yourself a different question. Can you afford to keep putting yourself last?
This isn't just a photo session. For a lot of women, it's a turning point. The day they stopped waiting until they lost the weight, or felt more confident, or had the perfect reason. The day they gave them self permission to do something special that adds positivity to their life. The day they just did it for themselves.
Money is real. I understand that. We can talk about payment options when you reach out. But don't let it be the reason you never do this because you are worth it.
Here’s a page from one of our albums with more than one picture on a page.
Is It Worth It?
In 24 years and 89 five-star reviews not one woman has said she wished she hadn't done it.
Every single one of them says the opposite. They wish they'd done it sooner. I even have some videos.
That's your answer.

If you're curious but not sure — that's okay. Most women aren't sure when they first reach out. I'll talk to you personally before you commit to anything. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just an honest conversation between two women.
