How To Be Confident In Pictures

For even the most confident women out there, a boudoir photo shoot can be a pretty big test of their self-esteem. But as a boudoir photographer, there’s nothing I love more than seeing how excited and proud women are when they see their beauty shine through in their photos!

No matter their age, size, or shape, every woman can show their sexiest self with boudoir photography! Here are my tips for how to find confidence at your boudoir photoshoot and create photos you’ll love for the rest of your life.

Celebrate Your Unique Shape

Look, we all see what the media wants us to view as “perfect” bodies for women. But beauty isn’t limited to a specific size or body type! I’ve worked with stunning women who are a size 2, and I’ve also photographed drop-dead gorgeous women who are plus-sized. Every body is beautiful, and so is every woman.

When we’re planning your session with me, we talk about what you’ll wear. I want you to choose the outfits that make you feel your best. If you love your va-va-voom curvy hips, show them off! If you’re proud of your long legs, let’s highlight them! Celebrate your unique shape, own it, and make your boudoir shoot your chance to revel in what makes you beautiful, just the way you are.

Plan Some Pre-Shoot Self Care

Setting aside time in the days before your boudoir shoot for some self-care will help you get in that “I deserve this” mode so that you can enjoy it even more! Your photoshoot itself is a fabulous self-care experience, after all. It’s all about celebrating you.

Schedule that pedicure! Indulge in a massage. Do things that boost your self-esteem and confidence to make you feel great about yourself! You’ll bring that energy with you to your shoot, and it will show in your photos!

Choose a Location Where You’ll Be Comfortable

When you schedule your boudoir photoshoot, think about where you’re going to feel the most comfortable letting your hair down – or putting it up! We have a large and all-female studio available to you for your pictures, but I’m also happy to travel to your home, an amazing hotel, or any other location ideas you might have!

The important thing is that you choose somewhere you can block out the world, focus on feeling your absolute best, and be comfortable. Our studio near Philadelphia but very close to Haddonfield, New Jersey, is just the place for you.

Accentuate Your Beauty With Hair and Makeup

It doesn’t take fancy hairstyles or makeup to look and feel beautiful. But when it comes to your boudoir experience, professionally-done hair and makeup can highlight your most striking features and make you feel like the superstar you are! If you love the sexy drama of a smokey eye or maybe a classic set of curls, now’s the time to wear it!

We’ll work together ahead of time to plan your knock-out look. That way, you can show up to your session knowing exactly what to expect – that you’re going to look exactly how you’ve dreamed about in your photos.

Leave the Posing to Me!

We all have ideas about what angles make us look our best. I mean, who doesn’t have a “good side” they prefer?? Feel free to pose in ways that make you feel good, but try to be open to my guidance, too. Remember, it’s my job to make you look phenomenal!

Instead of trying to look a certain way, focus on letting go of your fears and basking in your spotlight! With my eye behind the lens, you can be confident. I’ll give you tips and guidance for posing in ways that show the beauty of your body.

Get The Confidence Mindset

Everyone has something they might not love about their body. But at the end of the day, body confidence is the thing that makes the most stunning people so breathtaking. They’re proud of their bodies and without apology. You deserve to feel the same way, and it’s up to you to get that mindset because you can do anything you choose.

At your session, try to remember that your body is incredible. You’ll be wearing the perfect outfit, your hair and makeup will be on point.  Plus we use the correct camera lens and lighting to flatter you.  You will be amazed by how powerful and sexy you’ll look in your images when you’re photographed with the right mindset.

Pamper Your Skin

What woman doesn’t love that post-bath feeling? You know, when you’ve relaxed in the tub or shower, taken the time to shave, and moisturized with your favorite lotions or creams? It’s heavenly, it’s sexy, and it feels so good!

So, before your boudoir photoshoot, feel your most confident with a bit of at home pampering for your skin! Showing up to your photoshoot with your skin at its best will help you to show off as little or as much of your body as you’d like!
